Unfortunately not a great week for Strathgryffe. The 1st team started their very tough run in to the end of the season with a 5-0 (18-5 )loss at home to 3rd place Western which leaves them in 9th place some 16 points clear of the relegation zone. The 2nd team carried the flag again by winning 4-1 (17-5) to maintain their place at the top of division 2 and with 3 games to go are looking well placed to win the division especially as their 2 closest rivals have still to play each other.
The 3rd team suffered a 3-2 (14-9) loss to Newlands 4 which has dented their promotion hopes but they are playing Ayr next week who sit 1 place above so a good victory could put them back into contention. The 4th team went to Scotstoun and suffered a 5-0 (18-4) defeat which surely means division 5 squash for another season.
Now only 3 more weeks to go before the season finishes and all teams still have something to fight for.
